The magic of Telluride Bluegrass Festival is truly unmatched.
I first attended the festival in 2010 with my parents, sister, aunt, and uncle, before I ever lived in Colorado. I instantly fell in love with bluegrass, the mountains, and the spirit of the festival. While riding the gondola, my sister and I made a pact that we would one day live in Colorado together. The very next year, I moved to Denver and slept on her couch while pursuing my dream of becoming an artist.
Telluride has been a special part of my life for many years, through many different seasons. In 2024, the experience came full circle when we brought my 4-year-old daughter to the festival for the first time. It stormed for much of the weekend, but then the sky suddenly opened and a beautiful rainbow appeared over the mountains. It felt like pure magic. In this painting, you can see my daughter in her rainbow unicorn onesie, sitting on my husband’s shoulders.
Now, in 2026, I am thrilled to return with my family and my artwork on display. This piece brings together so many of my greatest loves: music, family, dancing, nature, and the wild joy of Colorado.
Through this painting, I hoped to capture the raw energy of the festival, the crowd, the mountains, and the unforgettable magic that makes Telluride Bluegrass so special.
