I paint landscapes and architecture with exaggerated colors and whimsical brush strokes. I have always been a daydreamer and aim to share my visions with the viewer; invite them to take a step inside my wild and sporadic perspective. My work is rooted in Impressionism and Expressionism, and I capture the atmosphere of spaces and times I’ve experienced. It is my hope that after someone has digested my work, that they will find a sense of curiosity or a fresh point of view.
Whether working with watercolor, pastels, oil, or acrylic, I allow the medium to take over. I encourage the supplies to take on a life of its own, and drip or smear as it pleases, leaving layered textures behind. I cannot deny this great urge inside of me to create and these materials allow me to express my inner mind. Being an artist is the only path for me in life. If I can slow time down for even one person in this chaotic world, allow them to walk inside my work, and become relieved, curious or inspired, then my efforts have been worth it. Even if in the end, that only person is me.
